The Customized Tungsten Carbide Coated Roller is engineered for extreme wear, high temperature, and corrosive industrial environments. Using the HVOF (High-Velocity Oxygen Fuel) spraying process, a tungsten carbide hard alloy coating such as WC-Co or WC-Co-Cr is applied to a steel, stainless steel, or cast iron roller body.
The coating forms a dense, metallurgically bonded layer with a typical thickness of 100–500 µm, bond strength above 70 MPa, microhardness of 1400 HV₀.₃ or higher, and porosity below 0.1%. This significantly extends roller service life in demanding applications such as steel rolling, papermaking, printing, film production, textiles, and battery manufacturing.
Key Technical Advantages
- Extreme Wear Resistance
Tungsten carbide coating hardness can reach up to 1500 HV₀.₃, far exceeding conventional hard chrome plating. It provides outstanding resistance to abrasive wear and erosive wear under high load and high linear speed conditions. - High-Temperature Stability
WC-Co coatings maintain high hardness at elevated temperatures, making them suitable for continuous annealing furnace rollers, hot rolling guide rollers, and other high-temperature processes. - Corrosion and Impact Resistance
By using Co-Cr or Ni-Cr alloy binders, the coating offers good corrosion resistance in humid, acidic, or chloride-containing environments while withstanding impact and vibration loads. - Precision-Controlled Surface Quality
After diamond grinding or mirror polishing, the surface roughness can reach Ra 0.1–0.4 µm, meeting strict requirements for films, foils, and high-end printing applications. - Electrical and Thermal Properties
Tungsten carbide coatings combine electrical conductivity with good heat transfer, making them suitable for rollers requiring static dissipation or efficient thermal management.
